The Albanian Government adopted the Normative Act extending the deadline for the declaration of the Beneficial Owners to 30 June 2021. For some background, the register of Beneficiary Owners in Albania is active since the 1st of February 2021 and concerns some 55,000 businesses, including NGOs. The previous deadline for completing the declaration – 1st of April 2021 – was contested by most business associations in Albania which requested an extension to the Government. The extension will become effective after the publication in the Official Journal.
