Kalo & Associates, acted as local counsel to EVN, which was also assisted by the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, in the largest HPP concession deal in Albania. On Tuesday 19th December after considerable negotiations the Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy, on behalf of the Government of Albania signed a concession agreement with Austria’s EVN and Norway’s STATKRAFT to build, operate and transfer three hydroelectric plants on the Devoll River. This agreement is the largest of financial value (nearly 1 billion Euro) ever signed in Albania.
