“One-Stop-Shop for Mining Applications”
Steps are being taken by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy for a ‘National Centre for Mining Applications’ i.e. another type of ‘one stop shop’ agency for mining applications. It is expected that the decision to approve this new centre should be taken in the near future.
This move follows the Decision No.913, dated 26.8.2009 that had established the ‘National Centre for Energy Applications’, which shall be under the authority of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy. This establishment is following the recent trend of the series of ‘one-stop-shops’ centre established by the Albanian State in the last years such as the National Registration Centre and the National Licensing Centre. This newly established centre has many competences including the facilitation of procedures for the issuance of licenses, permits and authorizations required for applications within the energy sector; and this is shall be particularly attractive for those wishing to invest in HPP concessions.
